Brief
Legacy is an immersive virtual brand experience designed for LUAR, the NYC label founded by Raul Lopez, a brand built on bold, gender-fluid design, diasporic identity, and radical cultural storytelling. The project proposes LUAR's entry into the metaverse through Fortnite, reimagining its iconic Battle Royale format as an immersive journey through Christopher Street, where players arrive, customize their avatars in LUAR pieces, and collect symbols drawn from the brand's own universe, the Ana Bag, the Linda Boot, the needle and thread, the CFDA Award, each one a nod to the community and history that shaped the label.
At its core, Legacy is a love letter to the activists, creatives, and visionaries, particularly from Black, Brown, trans, and marginalized communities, whose resistance and resilience made queer expression possible. The experience is designed to extend LUAR's values of identity, community, and inclusion beyond the physical world, creating a space where the brand's cultural weight translates into something interactive, accessible, and deeply personal. As the tagline puts it: Vogue, Battle, Belong.
Presentation and process
Prompt
A hyper-realistic Fortnite-style illustration of Christopher Street in New York City at night, rendered with raw, cinematic energy. The street is long and wide, packed with queer communities — people dancing, celebrating, and expressing themselves freely. The crowd is diverse and vibrant: shirtless people, drag queens, people in bold gender-fluid outfits, all wearing LUAR clothing — structured coats, leather pieces, and statement looks from the brand. The scene feels alive, gritty, and authentic to the real Christopher Street.
At the far end of the street, centered and monumental, stands the LUAR Ana Bag — scaled to the size of a building, resting upright on the ground like a landmark. The bag is impeccably clean and polished, deep black leather with a sleek structured silhouette, the LUAR logo embossed and glowing on its face. The bag shines under the city lights. At its base is a small door, slightly ajar, inviting players to step inside. The bag commands the entire street like a portal.
The perspective is a long street-level shot, looking down Christopher Street toward the bag, with the crowd filling the foreground and middle ground. Neon lights, fire escapes, and New York storefronts line the sides. The mood is raw, celebratory, and powerful — queer joy meets high fashion meets the metaverse.
